For those wanting realistic fight style and physical training done at a faster pace then this is for you. As well as sparring, we go through a variety of intense fitness and partner training drills where the combinations are performed on each other as everybody wears big gloves, mouthguard, shinguards and groin protection (the basic sparring kit). It is our most technically and physically advanced class and is a must for those who want to take their Muay Thai training to the next level. There is always some sort of physical conditioning element too. You will need your own protective equipment for this class and we always have gear for sale at the gym should you need it. This class now runs on a Wednesday night too at the same start time and is taken by senior member, Simona Fa’avesi.
Plus, we now have a new class every Thursday night from 7.00pm to 8.00pm at Woolston which we call “open fight training”. Come down and the bags or pads (team up with another member) or maybe do a bit of sparring. There will be an instructor there to supervise plus hold the pads for rounds in the ring if you want. The general gist of it though is to do your own thing.
